Last but not least... the final installment of this season's top trends...

7) Let it Snow!
As someone who is almost perpetually cold in the winter, outerwear is one of my absolutely favorite items of clothing.  And the trends in this area are superb this year. We have a little bit of everything. We are seeing a lot of capes and ponchos, which can be a fun way to mix up your coat closet. Also, was already mentioned, really long coats are in, and I personally think they are fabulous. The statement coat is another big trend, coats in unusual patterns or colors.

8) Knit Wits

Chunky knits are all over the place. Cozy and very practical, but also a trendy fashion statement, a chunky sweater can go with anything from a flowing skirt to dark wash jeans. Mix and match, this is the epitome of versatile!

9) Wide leg pants
After trying every kind of skinny pant under the sun from skinny jeans to jeggings, designers have finally gotten tired of the painted-on look. This year’s silhouette features a sophisticated wide leg, whether it be jeans or slacks. This is somewhat of an adult trend though; I have yet to see any teenagers in wide leg anything! But you are younger, don’t be shy of the more sophisticated styles: you can pair wide leg paints with a cute jacket or bright sweater for a classy look.

check back this weekend for a fashion feature to jumpstart your fall wardrobe, and then throughout the week for closer trend-by-trend looks at how we can apply these fads to our everyday outfits!
